Keep your student home and contact the nurse when they have the following symptoms:

Fever of 100.0 F or greater, stay home until 24 hours fever free without the use of fever reducing medications
Vomiting, stay home for at least 24 hours after the last instance of vomiting.
Diarrhea, stay home for at least 24 hours after the last instance of diarrhea.
Ongoing sore throat, pain with swallowing (contact child’s doctor)
Red eyes with crusting or drainage (contact your child’s doctor)
Sickness requiring doctor visit (see paragraph below)

Contact the school nurse if your student has:

Injury, illness, planned surgery or hospitalization
Communicable disease: COVID, chicken pox, strep throat, fifth disease or other physician diagnosed illness.
Fracture, sprain, stitches, cast, or crutches
New medication and/or dose change.
Head Lice, scabies or other parasite conditions

Preventing the Spread of Communicable Diseases:

If your student is diagnosed with COVID, Flu, Chicken Pox, Strep Throat, Fifths disease or another Medical condition, contact the school Nurse. When your student is seen by their doctor after an injury or illness, please request the doctor’s office to fax (508-487-5089) a note to the school nurse with approval to return and any precautions required for your student.

COVID guidelines are now called Respiratory Virus Guidelines

The Centers for Disease Control has changed the covid guidance to Respiratory Virus Guidelines. Encouraging the public to get vaccinated for Flu yearly, Covid, and RSV as recommended by your doctor. Practicing good hand hygiene, sneezing and coughing into your elbow, and washing surfaces. Allowing fresh air into closed spaces to decrease the amount of viruses and germs in the air. Staying home when sick, and using precautions like masks, testing, and social distancing when returning to the public from an illness.
